// Dana Falsetti #WellnessWednesday Series
TrillYoga has long been my movement to show yoga is for everyone; the same way I think wellness should be. It also is built on a community of people who handle wellness in their own way, as we are all trying to be the best versions of ourselves. #WellnessWednesdays is my way of sharing other personalities and stories so we can all see how wellness comes in many different styles.
Dana is one of the most empowered and inspiring women out there, who's more than just a yoga teacher. I've had the pleasure of knowing her, and getting to watch her journey. We could all use more of her mindset on wellness. Enjoy the read below, and make sure to check out her socials for more motivating, real, and honest content.
TELL US ABOUT WHAT YOU DO //
I’m a yoga teacher, writer, and public speaker. What I do really evolved from people asking me to come teach. They want to learn from somebody who doesn’t fit the mold, who maybe looks more like they do, who can encourage them to believe that what is possible for others is possible for them, too. Since I started teaching yoga my work has expanded into writing and speaking about challenges I’ve personally dealt with such as eating disorders, body image, and self-love. I’m here to inspire people to try, to believe in what might be possible one day if we can continue to show up for ourselves. I want everybody to know and believe that they are worthy of love, self-care, and respect, regardless of size, gender, color, age, bodily abilities, or any external factor. I believer we are limitless.
WHAT DOES WELLNESS MEAN TO YOU/HOW DO YOU DEFINE WELLNESS? //
Wellness is a choice, it is a state of being. It can’t be seen, it can’t be judged. It is a balance of everything that comes together to keep us healthy, happy, and striving. It comes from mindful eating, mindful movement, mindful thought, and mindful action. It comes from how you see and treat yourself all the way to how you interact with others. It comes from how you choose to nourish yourself in all ways.
FAVORITE WAY TO WELLNESS (WORKOUT, MEAL, ACTIVITY, ETC.) //
Personal yoga practice, meditation, time for rest. I still struggle with eating, but I am always conscious and mindful of what I consume.
WHEN DO YOU FEEL THE BEST AND WHAT IS THE BEST YOU? //
I feel best when I am eating well - meaning in ways that do not harm me or other beings. I feel best when my yoga and meditation practice is consistent. I feel best when I know I am being my best self and therefore can offer more to others. I am my best self when I believe in and work for my dreams, when I see my worth beyond my body, when I live without fear and walk with my head held high.
MOST IMPORTANT WELLNESS ADVICE OTHERS CAN TAKE AWAY //
Don’t let the judgement or perceptions of others stop you from becoming the best version of yourself. Don’t let the judgement of words floating around your head stop you either.
